Christmas comes early for General Dynamics Land Systems
General Dynamics was just announced by the Canadian government as the recipient of a $287-million contract to provide new reconnaissance and surveillance equipment for 66 Light Armoured Vehicles.
General Dynamics says the the new systems will have a 10-meter-tall retractable mast, an Operator Control Station as well as surveillance capabilities like radar, thermal/day and image intensification sights, laser range finder and GPS mounted on a stabilized platform.

Canadians should be reminded that the government already made the decision to purchase the F-35. There was no competition, and there is still no competition for Canada's next fighter. As shocking as it may appear, America's decision...er...the Canadian government's decision to take delivery of four F-35 in 2016, 2017 (or whenever) shouldn't really raise a lot of eyebrows.
